An Thuong — the default first choice

This is where most nomads land first, and for good reason: it's dense with cafes, restaurants, gyms and bars, all walkable, with My Khe beach a few minutes away. The trade-off is that it's the most touristy and can be the noisiest — bar streets at night, and construction is common as the area keeps developing. Great for your first month while you find your feet.

My An — the value pick

Just inland from An Thuong, My An keeps most of the convenience with slightly lower rent and a calmer feel. You're still walking distance to the beach and the cafe scene. Many longer-term nomads settle here once they realise they don't need to be in the middle of the action.

My Khe — beachfront premium

If you want to wake up to a sea view, this is it — but you pay for it, and high-floor units can have weaker water pressure and higher summer electricity bills with the air-con running. Worth it for some; check the specifics before committing.

Hai Chau — local life, lower rent

Da Nang's commercial and administrative centre, across the river from the beach. Quieter, more local, and noticeably cheaper — the food scene is geared toward locals, meaning it's both better and cheaper. The main drawback is distance: you're a 5–10 minute scooter or Grab ride from the beach and the main nomad scene. Ideal if you value a real neighbourhood feel over beach proximity.

Son Tra — peace and green

Up toward the peninsula, Son Tra is quiet, leafy and residential — good for families or anyone who wants calm. You'll likely need a scooter, and it's further from cafes and coworking.

The catch: the area matters less than the specific building
